About Us
Meet The Thompsons
For the past seven years, we’ve helped folks in our community keep their equipment running smoothly. From routine maintenance to complex diagnostics to complete overhauls, we handle your needs with care and professionalism.
We are a family owned and operated business based in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Our community is near and dear to us and we are grateful for the opportunity to offer our expertise to our neighbors!
We look forward to hearing from you!
Sydney Thompson
Sydney keeps our day-to-day operations running seamlessly, managing everything from phone calls and repair invoicing to bookkeeping, errands, and logistics. She has been supporting small businesses behind the scenes since 2020 and has worked alongside Nolan in various capacities from the very beginning. Recently stepping into an administrative role, Sydney plays a key part in keeping the business moving smoothly.
When she's not keeping the business moving, Sydney enjoys quilting, gardening, and spending quality time outdoors with her husband Nolan and dog Mabel.
Nolan Thompson
Nolan has always had an eye for detail and a desire to know how and why things work. His path as a business owner and small engine mechanic started as a teenager mowing lawns for neighbors and fixing his own equipment.
Nolan has been working with small engines since 2014—gaining foundational experience through lawn maintenance and equipment rental roles—before transitioning to full-time repair work in 2019. Today he brings extensive experience across leading brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Cub Cadet, Echo, Husqvarna, John Deere, Kawasaki, Kohler, Stihl, and Toro.
Mabel Thompson
Mabel has been a dog since 2022, and has a lifetime of experience sniffing, barking, and being a good girl. She is always on watch to let us know when customers arrive at the shop, and supervises while we write estimates and invoices from her favorite spot on the office rug. Away from the shop, she stays active with long walks, intense games of tug, and a personal commitment to lawn quality control via grass-clump sampling.
Sophie Thompson
Sophie is a true company veteran who has been part of the team from the very beginning. She can usually be found neglecting her duties as head mouser and sleeping on the job. While management remains largely unclear on her exact daily deliverables, HR agrees that her seniority makes her effectively un-fireable. Off the clock, Sophie’s true passions emerge: strict adherence to her automatic feeder schedule, treats, wet food, and sleeping.
